Acesis has one intent: to crucify the self-will, so that even the self-will seeking God and the goods of God ceases in a total, blissful, and glad~even if humiliating~surrender to the operations of the Sun upon the total self. Possibly, the most difficult dying in this process is dying to spiritual consumerism, wherein we work so ardently to be spiritual. Indeed, the seed of the Sun is already implanted in us, and it will grow through loving exposure to the Sun of Love, for that seed inherently is created to receive the Sun and become, thereby, like the Sun.
Therefore, struggling to be spiritual is important. That is, to the extent that we grow to be so frustrated with it, that we give up. Then, we surrender even our will to be spiritual to the Christ, and the will, we come to see, was true to the extent that it reflected the inner seed of divinity implanted in us by the One who summons us back to Itself.
This is conversion: the Great Return. And every and all longing, in every human, for the Good, True, and Beautiful is a longing for conversion into the Good, True, and Beautiful: Who is the One God, Alone Infinite.
Suggested Reflection
How do you see longing to become more like God evidencing in your life? How are you responding to that desire?
