But salvation is not a transaction; it is the formation of a new life. There is but one salvation for all humankind and that is the life of God in the soul.

He comes to find out what I believe, to pick my mind. I listen. I make clear that I intend to confuse persons, simply by being who I am as one calling persons to the heart and out of the head. I assure him that he will never know what I truly think.
"Why?" you could ask. I could reply "Why not?" Do I owe anyone an explanation of what I think? And, usually, sharing what I think does not help, for persons only want to know what I think out of curiosity, not any intent to change. They want to know if I agree with them.
I tell him that I do not much like talking about religion with persons. Why? Talk of religion tends to divide, not unite. Communion only arises from the heart, not the head.
Anyway, I am not much interested any more in such talk, unless such talk is a sharing of Presence. He seems not to understand about that respect for That-of-God-in-Everyone I refer to. He keeps going to his head, I keep directing him to his heart. We are in Communion, but far, far apart. He talks of faith as belief, while I speak of the importance of giving ourselves to Love.
He does not know, cannot see, that he just met the Christ he seeks so ardently. I did, too. Here.
