Scripture for Prayerful Meditation
1 The Living One is my shepherd; I have everything I need. 2 He lets me rest in green, plush meadows; he leads me beside peaceful, quiet streams. 3 He restores my vigor. He guides me in the right paths, bringing honor to his name. 4 Even when I walk through a dark ravine, I will not be fearful, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. 5 You prepare a meal for me while my foes can only look on. You anoint my head with oil as an honored guest. My cup is filled to the brim. 6 Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Living One throughout my entire life.

Prayer: To Be Courageous
Dear God, my Friend, my heart sometimes wants to pull back from the call to enter that vast unknown. But only there will I come to find, as you summon me to, who I really am. Therefore, this day, grant me courage boldly to walk the path laid out before me. May I trust, not that the way will be clear, but give me true faith to befriend the dark. And may I always recall, each step along the way, that all will be Well, for You are always with me. In the certainty of the Psalmist, and with his true Love for You, I say, with a glad heart now, "I will not fear, for You are with me."
