In ancient times, a king had a boulder placed on a road. He hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove it. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers walked around it. Many persons loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear but did nothing to remove the big stone out of the road. Then, a peasant came, carrying a load of vegetables. On approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his load and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing, he succeeded. As the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse in the road where the boulder had been. He opened the purse. It contained many gold coins and a note from the king, which told that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the road.
With every obstacle is an opportunity. Each challenge is an opportunity to improve one’s condition in some way. This does not mean that every obstacle is your obstacle to accept. However, each of us has some obstacles that we must face and work with to become the person we can become and the blessing we are to be.
Question: What obstacle might you be facing that you must work with to receive the opportunity it presents to you?
